Senior Department

A variety of activities and events are offered to those seniors who attend our site based programming.  In addition to being served a nutritional meal; seniors enjoy guest speakers, fitness programs, bingo, cable television and sewing class.  Bible class is also offered twice a week.


Senior Services

Our Home Delivered Meals Program provides meals to seniors 60 yrs and older and to persons with disabilities 18- 59 years. Meals are delivered hot/frozen, between the hours of 10:30 AM -12:30 PM, Monday through Friday. All meals meet federal standards and a variety of diet meals are provided. SLAAA’s goal is to provide healthy foods, nutrition supplements as needed, and good sound nutrition information to the citizens of the City of St. Louis, in the hope of keeping seniors in their homes and out of the hospital and or the nursing home. A three meal emergency pack is provided to all meal clients. These meals are used in the event of an emergency or if inclement weather prevents daily meal delivery. Referrals for Home Delivered Meal Program can be made at (314)612-5918 or (877)612-5918.

Our Senior Meals Program from SLAAA also, provides transportation services to seniors 60 yrs and older and persons with disabilities (18- 59 yrs) living in the City of St. Louis. These services include non-emergency medical transportation to the doctor, the hospital, or the dialysis center; trips to SLAAA sponsored senior centers within the City; trips for necessary governmental or bank business; trips for necessary shopping at the grocery store, the drug store, and all travel for SLAAA related festivities or activities. Transportation is normally provided Monday thru Friday, between the hours of 10 AM and 3 PM, subject to availability. Requests for transportation should be made at least 24 hours in advance. A contribution for all rides is asked and is highly suggested.
